Process System Design

Project Summary

The client planned to launch a new product from an existing feed stock and requested process design assistance from ADF Engineering. The new product would need to incorporate ingredient additions from several processes throughout the facility. The new product would also need to utilize some of the facility’s existing equipment to help justify the capital project investment. ADF utilized Laser Scanning to help create the as built conditions where the new process system would be incorporated. Several scans were required at multiple levels inside and outside of existing operations. Once the scans were completed they were tied together by utilizing conventional survey methods. This accurate 3D model allowed for the ADF design team to work with the client to develop the overall project flow and assisted with schedule development.

3D models, layouts, P&ID’s, PFD’s, construction document package and schedule were prepared for a new product processing system.

A plan for the overall project was developed including:

  • As Built 3-D modeling of multiple project areas and existing process Systems
  • Construction package that included: electrical, structural, mechanical and demolition plans
  • Project schedules
