Photogrammetry is an alternative to 3D laser scanning that takes normal, digital photos and turns them into 3D models that can be navigated and modified. Some benefits of photogrammetry include not needing any specialized equipment, more accurate representation of textures and colors, and less investment of modeling time and resources.
Using an ordinary digital camera, we took photos like the ones below.
We then uploaded the photos and let our software convert the pictures into a single 3D model. With almost no manual work, the software creates 3D objects that are compatible with AutoCAD and Navisworks.
